As 2017 enters its last gasps it is with both relief and excitement that we can reflect on the year that was.
Looking back and reflecting on 2017 it is just amazing at how much has happened. How many small victories were celebrated and painful improvements were unearthed and executed.
Our focus as we enter this period of relative quiet will be to look back and answer two questions: 1. how did we do? and 2. what do we want to do better next year?
We also just want to, as MTYsquared, take time to share our experiences and highlights of the year with you so take a read below…
We are because YOU ARE!
Our aim as MTYsquared is and has always been to serve you, our clients, in such a way as to contribute exponentially towards the growth of your business. We hope that we have achieve that mandate in your eyes.
That being said it is without a doubt unquestionable that without you placing your continued faith in us we would not have that opportunity.
We want to, as the entire team, send you a massive, super-awesomely big THANK YOU for your continued support, inputs, suggestions, and contributions towards making us feel invigorated to face the challenges and opportunities you will throw our way! Keep them coming!
Some victories
At the start of 2017 we had, as a leadership team, a number of focus areas that we wished to hone into executable offerings. In hindsight, some of those were incredibly ambitious and we have, during the year, needed to knuckle down on what we are awesome at and focus on honing that into an offering that does nothing but delight you. We have done so and believe we are ideally positioned to go into the new year with a solid base to help you grow your business (whether you are already an MTYsquared client or are going to become one soon).
Even with some of the teething challenges, we have faced I can honestly say that we have had some awesome victories and highlights along the way that I want to share…
1. New and improved offerings
In order to offer you an awesome experience, we need to ensure that our own house runs like clockwork. As such we have implemented a number of initiatives that position us ideally to offer a slicker, more client-focused experience where you are the one in control of what, how and when you choose to interact with us as MTYsquared.
From us launching our own hosting service, to click-to-chat on all our websites, to regular blog posts focused on sharing knowledge you can use to better run your business or to revamping our underlying methodology to focus on offering you technical expertise packaged in a business brain with extensive coaching, training and development to ensure that when you speak to anyone at MTYsquared you get a technical expert who cares as much about your business as you do – we have done it all (and more)!
Our aim, and what we believe sets us apart, it is our undying belief that our existence stems from helping you to succeed and for us to bring all our resources, expertise, connections and knowledge to bare to make sure that happens.
2. A growing team
Growth also means the welcoming of new faces to an ever-expanding team and this year was no different. Mbonisi Tshuma joined our team full-time this year as our ‘Code Assassin in Training’ all bright-eyed and bushy-tailed fresh out of university.
It was quite a steep learning curve for him but it has been an absolute pleasure working with him and seeing him grow in confidence and take on more. His attitude towards wanting to do what is right for you our clients, going above and beyond and being keen to learn have been awesome and it is what we value here at MTYsquared.
We would also like to thank all the contractors who also worked with us as well on specific contracts. Your knowledge, expertise, and effort were awesome.
We look forward to the coming year and welcoming, even more, new faces to our team as we continue to grow.
3. Client victories
There is nothing sweeter or more fulfilling to work on a project for you as a client that you are not only able to proudly publicise but one where you are also able to meet the goals you set out for us to begin with. We want to celebrate some of those successes (this list is not exhaustive by any shot of the imagination) and look forward to working with each new and existing client to make your 2018 goals a certainty!
3.1 Ossify Media – www.ossifymedia.com
One of our main aims in selecting any technology is in ensuring that it works for you as a client and provides you with as much power to do what you need to do to run your business as possible. Our aim is to support that in ensuring the technology runs smoothly – not running it for you.
Ossify Media is an example of where this played out perfectly. In just under 6 months we were able to support Kiki and the Ossify Media team to go from zero views (it was a completely new site built from the ground up) to 274 000 views!
3.2 Likers of Things – www.likersofthings.co.za
We love sites that look clean, have structured content targeted at an end-user and sites that ‘sell’ your brand for you both functionally and from a design point of view. Sara from Likers Of Things was a long-time client and as part of our offerings, we provide a yearly site refresh which turned out awesomely. This was both because over time we are able to take time to better understand your brand and then deliver on developing and designing for that.
3.3 Tutors Near You – www.tutorsnearyou.co.za
Because we would we ran a ‘Win a Website’ competition to either design or revamp a website for one lucky winner. Our lucky winner was Vincent from Tutors Near You. The video he shared with us about his experience says it all and is why we do what we do the way we do it!
Win A Website Winner – TutorsNearYou(Vincent Masango
We recently held a 'Win a Website' competition and our winner Tutors-Near-You provided feedback on their experience thus far with MTYsquared.Tutors-Near-You is a tutoring and homework services provider for your child, from grade 4 to 12. They offer experienced tutors across a range of subjects and best of all they come to you! Check out their website: https://tutorsnearyou.co.za/And if you want to experience the same awesomeness we bring to all our projects then drop us a message below.#ToThePowerOf #MTYsquared

3.4 NtokotoLoneneMedia – www.ntokotolonenemedia.co.za
Thomas Mabunda is a world-renowned photographer who is phenomenally awesome at his trade. He had been putting off building a website as it was just never a priority or focus for him and (like sometimes happens) left things to the last minute. He approached us with an incredibly tight deadline which we duly delivered on (with the help of some RedBull of course). It is important for us to have each of our clients be in a position to showcase their best possible selves online and where it is within our power to deliver that we do so and more!
3.5 The Pink Table Project – www.thepinktableproject.com
We love working with clients with purpose, client who want to make a difference through the work that they do and one such client is Ryan from The Pink Table Project.
The primary purpose of The Pink Table Project is to celebrate healthy options on a restaurant’s menu and to encourage healthier eating provisions where there aren’t any.
We have been working with Ryan to create a collection of restaurants that showcase healthy eating, allow you as a patron to experience some awesome feature events that The Pink Table Project has in store for 2018 and to ultimately show that healthy eating doesn’t have to be boring or bland.
Watch the space as early in 2018 The Pink Table Project will be going big with a bang in loads of countries worldwide!
Conclusion
Overall, this year has been awesome for us at MTYsquared and we want to again take this opportunity to thank each and every person that contributed towards that. We wish each and every one of you reading this post a restful festive period and a prosperous 2018!
We can’t wait to share some of the exciting things we have planned for you guys for next year so watch this space closely!
From all of us here at MTYsquared – stay blessed, stay impressed and stay hussling!
